Submit to one another.

Eph. 5:1-21, Verse 21 on says, “Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.” The word Christ is valuable here because it denotes the anointing or power of God. In order to have and enjoy the benefits of the Holy Spirit we need to live a life that is reverent for Christ or the anointing. Submitting to one another is a difficult thing to enjoy or be good at, yet it does seem to be the missing link between having Heaven’s Anointing and the regular powerless life of most Christians. In the words of Donald Miller, “other people exist”. I must be concerned with other people’s ideas and lives if I am going to receive the impact of anointing in my life. Can we really care about what other people value even if it is something that does not interest us?The answer is very clear. If I do not care about the things that you care about I do not really care about you. Heavy load here for me to carry today, but with the help of the Holy Spirit I will cause other people to succeed in Christ by being submissive.
