The purpose of the International House of Prayer is to bring people to Jesus and membership in his family, developing them to Christ-like maturity, and equip them for their ministry in the church and life mission in the world, in order to magnify God’s name.
In the spring of 1998, Bryan and Rhonda Nerren moved to Shelbyville, a town in which they knew no one or nothing about. All that they knew was that God had called them to Shelbyville, and this was going to be a place in which God was going to be doing a great thing. Ten years after being at the church, God provided a way for the church to move to a new building. They searched for land that would suit their needs, but instead found an abandoned car lot that had lots of potential. After taking a tour of the building, God confirmed that this was the place that the church needed to build. The building was completely gutted on the inside and turned into a place of worship. The church celebrated it’s first year in it’s new building on August 2nd, 2009.
