That’s a life changing, eternity-impacting difference. It’s the difference between someone saying to you, “Excuse me, but are you by any chance a Christian?” and “WOW! You sound just like Jesus. Who taught you that?” His Word, repeatedly running what you’ve heard through your mind eventually His thoughts become your thoughts and His ways become your ways. And then you will start to put on what the Bible calls “the mind of Christ. ”
ONCE AGAIN:
When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.
How can you respond to life’s twist and turns the way Jesus himself would respond? The only way is by learning to think as He thinks. When that happens, you’ll begin to respond the way He responds. The more you continue to read Scripture, the more you begin to think as He thinks and act as He acts. And that’s how, over time, you gain the wisdom of the ages. In fact, you might say that every time you read the Bible, God inspires it anew.
The Lord is asking each of us the same question and extending to us the same invitation: Are you going to choose to feed yourself, rather than waiting to be spoon-fed once a week? Will you choose to enter the University of the Spirit, where Jesus can personally mentor you daily?
What an honor to be personally mentored by God himself, every single day!
